Current Research Question
Which word, phrase, service, or process in moving or relocation causes the most confusion because different people use it to mean different things?
The Relocation Dictionary contains a growing collection of public terms. The next step is not simply adding more words. It is finding the places where inconsistent language is creating inconsistent outcomes.
A term may sound clear until a customer, salesperson, operations team, crew, carrier, RMC, or technology platform interprets it differently.
In your response, tell us:
- The term or phrase.
- Your role or perspective in the relocation ecosystem.
- What the term means to you.
- Where you see it interpreted differently.
- What happens when those definitions do not match.
- What a clearer common definition should accomplish.
A short answer is useful. A real example is even more useful.
Why TRE is asking
Responses can help identify terms that should be added to or strengthened in the Relocation Dictionary, and recurring patterns may be synthesized into future TRE research on where language creates friction across the move.
Please add your answer in the comments below.
Responses represent the contributors' own perspectives. TRE may later summarize recurring themes, but participation does not imply endorsement of any single proposed definition.
