In moving-packaging catalogs, an LDN container is a corrugated transport container used for shipments such as household goods moving by air. This entry describes that packaging usage. Confirm the supplier’s actual specification whenever the label appears in a move plan.

An LDN container size example

Delta Packaging lists a four-piece, double-wall LDN container with a wood pallet: 52 × 52 × 51 inches inside and 54 × 54 × 56 inches outside. The pallet configuration can vary. These measurements describe the listed product, not every shipment called LDN.

What to check before selecting it

Ask the packing team to confirm the usable space after protection is added, the permitted loaded weight and the handling method. An approximate cubic-foot label is not enough to determine whether individual items fit or how the assembled package will be charged.

The shipment planner and freight provider should work from the same outside dimensions and packed weight. The crew also needs the package identification and item inventory, and the receiving team needs clear delivery and unpacking instructions.

Questions for the move plan

  • Which container specification, pallet and closure are included?
  • Are packing, handling and destination services included in the quote?
  • Who confirms carrier acceptance and any destination packaging requirements?
  • What happens if the surveyed goods require another unit?
  • How will damage or missing items be recorded at each handoff?

Proposed TRE common-language definition
