**TRE Dictionary**

## RMC

**RMC** stands for **Relocation Management Company**, an organization that manages or coordinates relocation benefits and services on behalf of employers or other clients.

### In plain English

An RMC may help administer policy, vendors, household-goods moves, destination services, temporary living, expense processes, reporting, and employee support.

### Why it matters

The RMC may authorize services and manage the overall relocation while individual providers physically perform different parts of the move.

### Who this affects

Transferee · Employer mobility team · RMC · Providers

### Where this sits in the move

Policy → Authorization → Coordination → Completion

### Stakeholder perspectives

The employer defines the program; the RMC coordinates authorized services; the transferee needs a clear contact.

### Responsibility and handoff

Confirm exception and cost approvals, supplier bookings, information-sharing permissions, and issue resolution.

### Common misunderstanding

An RMC is not automatically the carrier, employer, or insurer. Coordination does not erase the performing provider’s responsibilities.

### TRE common-language definition

> **RMC:** A company that manages and coordinates relocation programs, policies, vendors, and services on behalf of a client organization.
